President
Jasween redesigned and created the official GLSA website www.glsauoft.ca. He also secured the official email address for the GLSA glsa.law@utoronto.ca on the university mailing server. He is a Dual-Licensed Internationally Trained Lawyer in Canada. He is a Barrister and Solicitor licensed to practice in Ontario and an Advocate of the Bar Association of India. He is the ex-City Councillor of the Municipal Corporation and ex-Member of the Appeal Committee (Tribunal). He is currently a Candidate for the G.P.LL.M. (2022-23) program, specializing in Innovation Law and Technology at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. He has completed his B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law University, Delhi. He is also certified in international trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. He is a polyglot and is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. He is a socially motivated being and shares a keen interest in Law, Technology, Philosophy, Sociology, Economics, and Politics.
Vice President
Frederick is the Vice-President of the GLSA and is currently enrolled in GPLLM in the Innovation Law and Technology concentration. He is a commercial lawyer qualified in Hong Kong. He has worked as an in-house lawyer in global technology companies for around 11 years. He was trained and practiced as a litigator before turning in-house. Before becoming a lawyer, Frederick worked as an IT consultant in a global financial information provider for about six years. Frederick has a strong passion for using technology to improve work efficiency. He has used MS 365 functions (Power Automate, SharePoint) to build an internal reporting system for his legal team. He then generates the report using Power BI for ease of understanding by the CEO. Besides legal functions, he has experience running business operations such as logistics and sales administration.
Treasurer
Shantam is the Treasurer of the GLSA and is presently pursuing the LL.M. program at the University of Toronto. Being a dual-qualified legal professional (called to the Bar in England & Wales and India), Shantam holds more than three years of industry experience in handling corporate advisory, commercial litigation, dispute resolution, real estate, immigration, and family law matters. His professional experience is supplemented by his strong academic foundation, whereby in addition to holding an integrated degree in business administration and law, he holds Associate memberships of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment, United Kingdom. In his role as the treasurer, he aims to build upon his strong accounting and budgeting skills towards utilizing the GLSA funding in a more efficient manner by establishing a robust process of fund allocation.
Director of Communications
Teresa is a GPLLM student specializing in the Innovation, Law, and Technology concentration at the Faculty of Law, the University of Toronto. She also completed BBA in Global Business from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Law from the Manchester Metropolitan University. Teresa has extensive work experience in regulatory compliance, particularly in the field of anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). She has worked in the banking regulatory authority in Hong Kong for around seven years, responsible for supervising large and complex international banks and handling legal, regulatory, and policy issues of AML/CFT and has been heavily involved in the work of international standard-setting bodies such as cross-border payment initiatives and updated standards for virtual asset service providers. Teresa is interested in learning more about the intersection of technology and law and the opportunities of new technologies for AML/CFT. Personally, she enjoys traveling, early morning work-outs and spending time with her friends and family.

Midhat is a GPLLM candidate in the Canadian Common Law stream. She is also an NCA candidate and is pursuing her licensing process for the Ontario Bar. She is a foreign-trained lawyer from India and is an Advocate with the Bar Council of India

Graduate Student Union Representative
Yukiko is an SJD Candidate in the Faculty of Law. Her research interests include family law, care work, feminist legal theory, and political philosophy. As the GLSA’s liaison to the university’s Graduate Students’ Union, she works to ensure that graduate law students’ interests are represented in the wider university. Prior to returning to the academy, she worked in the non-profit and publishing industries.
Helena Clotten
LLM Representative
Helena is currently enrolled in the LL.M. program with a concentration in health law, ethics, and policy at the University of Toronto, where she serves as an LL.M Representative. Before starting graduate school, she completed her LL.B in law and a bachelor's in educational science at Ludwig-Maximilians-Univeristät-Munich, Germany. In the future, she would like to work in the international field, for example, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her goal is to represent the LL.M. program in the best possible way and to make the application process more transparent for the future UofT applicants. Helena's biggest hobbies are reading and skiing.

Tifo Rouane is an investment strategist with a large investment firm in Canada. Tifo has over 12 years of experience in the investment sector. Tifo holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) along with Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM). Tifo is a talented and inspirational financial services professional with vast experience in wealth management, product development, advisor marketing and value creation.
