Treasurer

Karan is a GPLLM Candidate with prior experience in criminal and regulatory defense litigation. His research interests include white collar crimes, prison administration and regulation of criminality using theories rooted in Law and Economics.

Before joining the University of Toronto, Karan obtained his B.A. LL.B. (Hons. in Criminal Law) from Gujarat National Law University in India, followed by a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Business Management from Algonquin College, Ottawa.

Klaudio Claus

GPLLM Representative

Claudio Klaus (B.A, LLB, M.A.) is a licensed lawyer in Brazil and current GPLL.M student at UofT Law. After earning his law degree, he clerked for Chief Justice Cristovao Suter at the Roraima State Court of Appeals and gained experience as a Legal Extern at the Arizona Supreme Court. He also spent a semester as a research trainee at Osgoode Hall Law School. Beyond his legal career, Claudio hosts the podcast "Studying Law Around the World". He is currently the Outreach Officer of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s Law Students Section, the Newsletter Editor for the Ontario Bar Association Student Section Executive Committee, and member of the Legal Futures Subcommittee Member at the Canadian Bar Association.

Oliver Chan

SJD Representative

Oliver is a first year SJD candidate with research interests in public law, legal theory and positive rights. As the SJD Representative, he works to ensure that the diverse interests of SJD candidates are represented in the quotidian and long-term affairs of the GLSA and the Faculty of Law.

Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Oliver completed an LLM at Queen's University in Kingston and a BCL/JD at McGill University in Montreal. He also served as the Director of Research for a legal information clinic.
